Well i like your scans. They are nice. But i have a qualm with it... Isnt it Ma kensei... Not Ba?...... Its sorta weird reading and seeing "Master ba" (starts thinking of sheep >_<)

In the manga, it's Ba. It doesn't matter to me if in the anime they changed the reading of his surname to Ma, because I'm translating the manga, not adapting it to fit the anime.

Thanks for continuing the scanlation of this great manga. About Ma Kensei's name. I wonder why eternal-blue translated it as "Ma" when there was no anime? you can see it if you check the previous vols. anyways thats not too big deal. You are doing a "Great Work". Thanks for the scanlating again...

Well thats good for you. Btw, didnt they change how its said, not how its read >_> Cause i could swear they say ma. Unless of course you mean that the publishers changed it.

Anywho, I agree with you nature. I dont know why they did, But ma is a much more correct Chinese surname >_> To me at least, Not saying that every Chinese person must have ma >_<

ANYWAYS, back to saying its abv avg. IE- Not terrible.

Oh, and im gonna contradict my first statement. The scans are nice, But after thinking it over, That first, and maybe also the second (cant remember about the second) were a tad too small. I had to zoom in onto the picture 2-3 times to see what was read.
So, OOC, What size are the images when you Typeset them?

I don't think Eternal Blue paid a lot of attention to the furigana. They also gave Niijima's name as Arajima in the first few chapters, something that surprised me when I was struggling to read the sample first chapter at websunday.net and comparing it to the scanlation.

I can't speak to the size of the scans (I translate directly from the books.)

When 馬 剣星, the Master of all Chinese Kenpo, is introduced at the beginning of book 2, the reading beside his name is ば けんせい - Ba Kensei. When he is introduced at the start of episode 2 of the anime, the characters of his name are the same, but the reading is different - ま けんせい - Ma Kensei. Even in book 24 (the latest I have, which was released after the anime started airing), the reading in the manga is still Ba, not Ma, so Matsuena Syun has not let himself be influenced by the anime on this point.

i dont mean to criticize but my translation of 馬 is (n) horse; promoted bishop(in shogi)with a reading of uma or ma

forgot my original reason for posting :P thanks for all your hard work, i really like this series so keep up the good work

If you check a character dictionary, you'll see that one of the on-yomi of 馬 is BA, and it makes sense for a Chinaman to use an On-yomi for his name.
